march 8th, 2pm…that’s when cabq’s esperanza community bike shop opens its doors to the public. i know what you’re thinking…another bike shop, but other than having ‘bike shop’ in the name, that’s where the similarity ends. ecbs isn’t really a bike shop at all, from what i understand. they won’t sell you a bike, but they’ll loan you one, or give you one (special limitations apply). what they are, is a bike school. courses will be offered on various aspects of bike mechanicalizing and commuter safety…the earn a bike program, a bike library, tues. thurs. sun. open wrench night, bike movie night. what more could you ask for?
